Engagement Session
This list is comprised of some of our favorite local locations as well as destinations! I’ve made note of the locations that require permits or tickets. You’ll notice some of the locations are marked with “Bucket List.” There might be something special in store for you if you choose one of these locations, email me to find out! Lastly, don’t feel like you need to choose off this list. I’m always excited to go on new adventures so feel free to think outside the box!
An absolutely stunning white marble courthouse, hidden walkways, urban architecture, a pedestrian only area with outdoor seating, and options to stop for ice cream, coffee, bubble tea, or a cocktail! You’ll definitely want to eat dinner in town after your session - so many of our favorite restaurants are in Somerville!
Secluded trails, lots of woods, and a beautiful reservoir that glows at sunset! Plus large open fields and a rustic wooden fence!
New Jersey is home to many beautiful beaches. Let’s spend the day in the sun at Long Beach Island, Spring Lake, Point Pleasant, Ocean Grove, Sandy Hook, or Asbury Park with its beautiful boardwalk and historical casino! And yes, of course we’re getting ice cream!

Great for the history lover, this area boasts beautiful Victorian mansions and a quaint courthouse famous for hosting the 1935 Lindbergh kidnapping trial. Just around the corner is Liberty Village, an outlet mall with lots of nooks and crannies perfect for photos!

This all-stone castle is fit for fairytales! Together we'll explore the grounds which feature a tree-lined orchard, a greenhouse, over 100 acres of botanical gardens, rolling lawns, verandas, and natural woodlands.
The arboretum surrounds a Colonial Revival mansion overlooking the Great Lawn - a large gently sloping manicured grassy expanse in the style of an English county manor landscape. It features formal gardens and beautiful nature trails.
A 685 acre park that features a rose garden, nature trails, pedestrian bridge, and a historical stone cottage.

Not to be confused with the Skylands Manor Castle which is also located in Ringwood. This beautiful white and pale blue estate features a structure garden, stone walls, iron gates, tree-lined paths, and rolling lawns.
This beautiful estate features Roman columns and a Mediterranean Revival architecture style. It is surrounded by lush gardens, and Chinese Wisteria climbs around the pillars of the back portico. There is a $300 permit fee for this location. (Client is responsible for securing permit, but we’ll make it worth it!)

A beautiful lake surrounded by weeping willow trees, winding paths, and a gorgeous stone bridge. We could even venture out on the lake in paddleboats!

Like its name suggests, you'll find a mix of contemporary and historical sculptures. You'll also find extensive gardens, an incredible tree-lined path, and a bridge over a lily pond which is an homage to Monet's painting Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge. (Client is responsible for ticket costs. Currently $10 per person online.)
Enjoy incredible views of the NYC skyline, cobblestone streets, historic Hoboken train station, and the beauty of the piers.
New Jersey has some of the oldest and most beautiful college campuses in the country! Even if it’s not your Alma Matter, the architecture on these campuses makes for gorgeous imagery. Some favorites include Princeton University, Monmouth University, Rutgers University and more!

Yonkers or Europe? Let’s explore this historic 43-acre city public park complete with columns, gardens, pergolas, and more! Located just north of New York City.
Kids at heart? Let’s head to Coney Island for games, the boardwalk, a ride in the Wonder Wheel, and sunset on the beach!
If you're a fellow Francophile but can't travel to France for your engagement session, this is a pretty good compromise! You may recognize this beautiful venue from the movie Mona Lisa Smile with Julia Roberts. (A permit is required but I’m not sure of the fee.)

New York, New York. It doesn’t get more iconic than the sweeping views DUMBO has to offer of the Manhattan Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge.
Old New York vibes with cobblestone streets and historical buildings. End with sunset on Pier 45!
Are you two-one-two Manhattan through and through? We absolutely MUST visit Top of the Rock for your engagement session! These photos are from a wedding I photographed here and the views are INCREDIBLE! If you have a two hour session, add on a second location in Midtown - see the next listing below! (Client is responsible for ticket costs. Currently $38 per person online.)
Since most of these locations are closer together, we could probably visit two within your session time frame. Mix-and-Match: New York Public Library, Times Square, Grand Central, Rockefeller Center, the MoMA, etc.
A beautiful oasis of trees, rose gardens, pastoral lawns, and my favorite, the Cherry Esplanade - rows of beautiful pink cherry blossom trees! Book your session in April or May to see the cherry blossoms. There are also several indoor conservatories, including the Desert Pavilion which is full of succulents and cacti. The BBG is closed on Mondays and there is a $150 permit fee. (Client is responsible for securing permit, but we’ll make it worth it!)
This lower Manhattan neighborhood offers nautical vibes, vintage ships, urban street art, and unparalleled views of the Brooklyn Bridge!
Want to visit Rome for your engagement, but can’t leave PA right now?! Let’s head to Longwood Gardens and no one will be the wiser! Gorgeous gardens, architecture, statues, and promenades await our exploration! (Client is responsible for ticket costs. Currently $25 per person.)

A little rustic, a little historic, a whole lotta charming! Located right on the border between New Jersey and Pennsylvania…and this just happens to be where Chris and I had OUR OWN engagement session. We got married across the street at the Washington Crossing Inn! <3
While most of our sessions take place in the tri-state area, we've photographed engagements everywhere from Italy to San Francisco to Paris to Disney World! If you have a location in mind that is significant to you two, let me know! If our schedules align, we may be able to take your engagement photos outside of our normal service area. Travel fees may apply depending on location & availability.
